Whalli Focus is built around a simple principle: your focus data stays on your Mac. Here is exactly what we process — and what we don't.
1. Our local-first commitment
The Whalli Focus app runs primarily on your device. Your focus sessions, app-usage statistics, Pomodoro timers and block lists are stored locally on your Mac and are not sent to our servers.
We (“we” means Whalli, the publisher of Whalli Focus) only collect personal data in the strictly necessary cases described below: purchase, support and operating the website.
2. Data we process
Purchase and billing
When you buy a license, the payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Irlande). We receive your email address, the amount and a transaction identifier in order to deliver the license and the invoice. We never have access to your full card number.
Customer support
If you write to us, we keep your email address and the content of your message for as long as needed to handle your request.
Website
The website records minimal technical data (server logs, aggregated analytics) needed for security and proper operation. See the cookie policy for details.
3. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract: processing your purchase, delivering the license and support (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
- Legal obligation: keeping invoices for the legal retention period (Art. 6.1.c).
- Legitimate interest: website security and fraud prevention (Art. 6.1.f).
- Consent: non-essential analytics cookies, where applicable (Art. 6.1.a).
4. Retention periods
- Billing data: 10 years (accounting obligation).
- Support exchanges: up to 3 years after the last contact.
- Technical logs: up to 12 months.
5. Data sharing
We never sell or rent your data. It is only shared with the processors strictly necessary to the service:
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Irlande) — payment processing.
- Site auto-hébergé par l'éditeur (Whalli) — website hosting.
- A transactional email tool, where applicable, to send licenses and invoices.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. To exercise them, write to us at hello@whalli.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
